What is Empirical Formula?

The empirical formula for a compound provides the most straightforward ratio of the number of various atoms that are present. The sulfur and oxygen molecules, sulfur monoxide, and disulfuric dioxide have the same empirical formula. They have the same molecular formulas, which indicate how many atoms are present in each molecule of a chemical compound.
